Back at Relais Tenuta Santa Caterina,
Steven finds an apron and talks his way into the kitchen at breakfast.
Perfectly scrambled eggs and lots of truffle.
Ready to eat.
Restorante Il Bagatto
Right in the middle of this little town, an old farmhouse, noted for its warm, rustic welcome.
Simple, genuine food with traditional flavors of Piedmont cuisine. They also have a well stocked wine cellar with some of the best wines from the region.
This is what we had.
We have arrived at the beautiful Tenuta Santa Caterina.
An elegant country house with only six suites, each decorated for one of the wine labels produced in the owners vineyards.
We all wanted o stay for another week. The staff is amazing, and the owners charming. We are here for the white truffle festival, so more to come.
See more about this wonderful place, only about an hour from Milano.
Be sure to tell Mariza we sent you, and give her a big hug for us.
The Grand Hotel Majestic “già Baglioni”
This is where we stayed.
The hotel is situated in a Palazzo designed by architect Alfonso Torregiani during the first half of the 18th century and built by order of Cardinal Prospero Lambertini, who later became Pope. The palazzo is in fact, built on top of an ancient Roman road, part of which can be seen within the hotel.
The 109 rooms have a mix of antiques with modern amenities, a perfect blend of classic italian style, elegance and hospitality.
The hotel is famous for its I Carracci restaurant with it’s frescoes, which is regarded as among the most sophisticated and elegant in Bologna. This is a place where you may enjoy the traditional recipes of the Emilia region whilst seated under authentic Italian masterpieces. The new “Enoteca Morandi” with a well stocked cellar provides a wide range of fine Italian and foreign wines to complement a traditional and “rustico” regional menu.
